Often asked questions

When is my ticket valid?

Your Storebælt Ticket becomes valid 20 minutes after you have completed the purchase. We therefore recommend purchasing the ticket well in advance to avoid waiting time at the toll station.

Can I buy a Storebælt Ticket for a rented, borrowed, or leased car, or for a car I do not own?

Yes, you can. You just need to make sure that the number plate is entered correctly.
If you stop renting or borrowing the car, the ticket must be cancelled, otherwise someone else may use it.

Can I buy a Storebælt Ticket if my number plate contains special characters (e.g. Ø, Å, or umlaut)?

Yes, you can buy a Storebælt Ticket even if your number plate contains special characters such as Ø, Å, or umlaut.

When entering your details, select the correct country code and then enter the number plate including the special characters.

Personalised number plates cannot be used with the Storebælt Ticket.

Can I cross the bridge at any time?

Yes. The Storebælt Ticket is not time‑specific and can be used at any time, if it is used within the 30‑day validity period.

How do I use my Storebælt Ticket at the bridge?

Once your Storebælt Ticket is valid, you are ready to cross the bridge.

When approaching the toll station, simply drive into the green express lanes. Your number plate will be read automatically, the system will recognise your Storebælt Ticket, and the barrier will open automatically.
You do not need to stop, show a ticket, or scan anything.

The barrier does not open – what should I do?

If the barrier does not open automatically, it may be because your number plate could not be read. In that case, drive up to the screen in the express lane and enter your number plate manually. You can also press the “Help” button to get assistance on site.

Can I buy a Storebælt Ticket if I do not have an email address?

Unfortunately, not. To purchase a Storebælt Ticket, you must have a valid email address, as the receipt and confirmation are sent by email. Reminders about the expiry date are also sent to the specified email address.
