Disability discount on the Storebælt Bridge

Storebælt offers a special discount for disabled drivers so that motorists with a disability can cross the bridge for DKK 157. 

Benefits of a Storebælt Disability agreement

The price for a single trip on the Storebælt Bridge is DKK 157. This also applies if your disability vehicle is longer than 6 m.

You can use the green express lanes without stopping.

The price for crossing the bridge is automaticaly charged through your issuer.

Before you apply

  1. Before you apply for a Storebælt Disability agreement, you must have number plate payment for your vehicle from Brobizz or ØresundPAY. If you have an address outside Denmark, you must ensure that you have a bizz from one of Storebælt's partners before you can apply for the agreement.
  2. You must ensure that there is an active Storebælt agreement registered on your number plate payment (bizz, if you live abroad).

How to apply

The application process depends on whether you have an adresse in or outside of Denmark.  

You must apply through the Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark (DPOD) if you want to obtain the disability discount. The application process depends on whether you have a residential address in or outside Denmark. 

  • If you have an address in Denmark you need to apply for the Storebælt Disability agreement through the digital application portal via Disabled People’s Organisations Denmark here.

    NB: In the application portal, you must log in with your MitID/NemID and upload your Vehicle Registration Certificate.

  • If you have an address outside of Denmark you must apply for Storebælt Handicap through the Danish Handicap Organisation's contact form here.
    Remember to include the following:
    - Full name 
    - Residential address 
    - Customer number with your issuer 
    - A copy of your EU parking card for people with disabilities 
    - A copy of your Vehicle Registration Certificate. 
    - Number plate (the registration number of your vehicle) 
    - Bizz number (16 digits)

 

When the application has been processed

You will receive a confirmation from DPOD, when your application has been approved. The next time you want to cross the Storebælt Bridge, you have to use the green express lanes to obtain the disabilty discount.

Good to know

You only obtain the disability discount with the vehicle registered for Storebælt Disability
Please note that you can only obtain the discounted price of DKK 157, when you cross the bridge with the vehicle registered for the Storebælt Disability agreement. If you have a bizz, you can’t use it in other vehicle on the Storebælt Bridge, when it’s registered for the disability discount.


When you get a new car
It is important that you apply for the Storebælt Disability agreement once again, when you get a new vehicle or number plate, if you still wish to obtain the disability discount.

Questions and answers about Storebælt Disability

Can I apply the Storebælt Disability agreement with a number plate payment?

Yes, you can apply for the Storebælt Disability agreement with a number plate payment for your vehicle if you have a Danish address.  

If you live outside of Denmark, you will need to get a bizz before applying for the Storebælt Disability agreement. 

Can I apply the Storebælt Disability agreement with a bizz?

Yes, if you do not have a Danish address, you can only apply for the Storebælt Disability agreement with a bizz.

Do I still get the disability discount with my bizz as before?

Yes, if you had a Storebælt Disability agreement on your bizz before 14 June 2023, you will still obtain the disability discount, when you pay with your bizz and are driving in the vehicle that has been approved.   

What happens with my disability discount when I get a new car?

If you get a new car or number plate, you no longer obtain the disability discount automatically.

If you still want to obtain the disability discount, you must order a new number plate payment and apply for Storebælt Disability again.

NB: If your old number plate was registered for Storebælt Disability on a bizz, it is important to terminate the disability agreement for your old vehicle. You do this by contacting Storebælt's customer service via the contact form here.

What happens with my disability discount when I get a new bizz?

If you get a new bizz, your Storebælt Disability agreement is not automatically transferred to your new bizz. If you still want to obtain the disability discount, you must order number plate payment for your vehicle and apply for Storebælt Disbility again.

How do I terminate my Storebælt Disability agreement?
