What do I do if my car breaks down on the bridge?

If you get a puncture, run out of fuel, or your car otherwise breaks down on the bridge and you cannot continue, you can use the emergency phones.

The emergency phones are located 500 metres apart across the Storebælt Bridge.

When you use an emergency phone on the Storebælt Bridge, you will be put through to the Storebælt control room and someone will help you.

How serious does my problem have to be in order to use the emergency phone?

If your car comes to a stop on the bridge regardless of whether you’ve run out of fuel, got a puncture, or an accident has occurred, you can call us using the emergency phone. We want to avoid cars coming to a stop on the bridge for any longer than is necessary. Sometimes it can take a while before breakdown assistance arrives. Consequently, Storebælt would appreciate if you call us immediately so that we can help you and clear the emergency lane quickly.
